Dr. Edmund B. Mabhuye is a prominent climate change, sustainable development and natural resources management expert. He is currently serving as the IPCC focal person at the University of Dar es Salaam and heads the Centre for Climate Change Studies of the University of Dar es Salaam. He has conducted major research addressing climate change science, impact analysis, vulnerability assessments, climate change impacts, risk and disaster assessment and management, livelihoods analysis, and climate change adaptation and mitigation options analysis expert. He has a strong knowledge of issues related to climate finance and resilience pathways. He holds a PhD in climate change and sustainable development and an educational background in natural resource assessment and management and environmental studies. He has more than 15 years of extensive professional experience involved with the formulation, review and /or harmonisation of sectoral and strategic policies, sectoral and institutional strategies, development and adaptation plans, development and adaptation programmes, and development and research projects. He has been involved in works related to feasibility studies, research and surveys, capacity building of government, non-governmental and private sector development, and sound knowledge in organizing and facilitating technical meetings and workshops.

HIMILI PAMOJA: Gendered Encounters in Climate Change Adaptations in Tanzania. The project is implemented in the Tanzanian mainland and Zanzibar, looking into opportunities and challenges for adaptation and exploring options for enhancing climate resilience through green development strategies and options.
Project for Building Capacity to Crosslink Coastal Pollution with Climate Change (BC5). The project is being implemented in the marine and coastal ecosystems of Tanzania and Ghana. It engages in dissemination meetings with key stakeholders, policymakers, and decision makers and undertakes research activities in the ecosystems to support ocean governance and blue economy policy development and decisions to manage coastal and marine ecosystems in the changing climate.
Project for Environmental Risk Management Under Increasing Extremes and Uncertainty - MERIT PROJECT. The project is being implemented in dry lands of Tanzania and Uganda, engaging in dissemination meetings with key stakeholders and policy and decision makers and undertaking research activities in the ecosystems of the dry land to support climate resilience of climate risks and disaster management for climate resilience enhancement.
Young People Climate Change Engagement in Tanzania (Y-ENGAGE Project). The project is being implemented in Tanzanian ecosystems, covering young people’s population in climate change perspectives to stimulate policy change by engaging key stakeholders, policy and decision makers, and research activities.
The Role of Rural-Urban Linkages for Enhanced Climate Resilience in Rural Tanzania (RUL4CLI) is conducted in semi-arid areas of Tanzania. It engages in dissemination meetings with key stakeholders, policymakers, and decision-makers and undertakes research activities in the ecosystems to support scientific publications, policy development, and decisions about managing semi-arid ecosystems and livelihoods in a changing climate.
