Biography

Dr. Zilpah Saul Ombijah is a lecturer and researcher specialising in language and communication studies at the University of Dar es Salaam. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Essex, a Master’s in Linguistics from the University of Dar es Salaam, and a BA in Education focusing on linguistics and literature. Dr. Ombijah has extensive teaching experience, currently serving as a lecturer at the Centre for Communication Studies at the University of Dar es Salaam. Her research portfolio includes research projects on communication and language studies from an African perspective. In addition to her academic roles, Dr Ombijah has provided consultancy services in communication, education and language. This study details the intonation of Luo, a Nilotic language spoken in Eastern Africa.
