Dr. Sara Emanuel is a lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam, School of Mines and Geosciences in the department of Petroleum Science and Engineering. She earned her PhD in Earth Science from Tohoku University. As an academician she engaged in both teaching and research activities. Her research focuses on biostratigraphy, stratigraphy, sedimentology, reconstruction of paleoenvironmental, paleoclimate variability, palaeoceanographic and paleo depositional conditions based on microfossils, isotope geochemistry and elemental proxies. She has been actively participated on the research activities related to International Continental Scientific Drilling Program and the MegallanPlus 21st Century Drilling Workshop series. She has participated on at-sea training in 85th Dayang Hao Vessel for polymetallic sulphides exploration at the Southern West Indian Ridge (SWIR).
