Biography

Masoud Dauda is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Dar es Salaam.  He holds a PhD from the University of Kent, United Kingdom, a Master’s degree from Lund University, Sweden and a BA degree in Sociology/Anthropology from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. His academic background reflects an interest in understanding the relationship between humans and their environment from a range of perspectives. His research interests cut across topics such as social change and culture, environmental anthropology, sociology of development, human ecology, environment and development, environmental health, gender issues, energy studies, biodiversity management, community-based conservation, sustainability, climate change, and renewable energy innovations. He has supervised numerous postgraduate students, contributing to capacity-building and knowledge dissemination in his field.
