Fulgence N. Mpenda is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MBB).
He is currently pursuing PhD at Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST). His PhD research is on molecular basis of chicken variations in susceptibility to the Newcastle disease virus infection. His areas of specialization are Molecular biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics and Immunogenetics.
His research interest is deploying genomics tools to decipher genetic mechanisms of disease resistance or susceptibility in Livestock. From his Msc and PhD research work he has published a number of papers in international journals.
