He received Bachelor degree in 2012 and joined University of Dar es Salaam as Tutorial Assistant in 2013. Dr. Kikumi received Masters of Science in Mathematical Modelling from University of Dar es Salaam in 2015 and promoted to Assistant Lecturer in the same year.
Dr. Kikumi is the recipient of five (5) UDSM Competitive Research Grant Awards 2018-2019 (1), 2020-2021 (2), and 2021-2022 (2). He has also received Early Carrier Research Grant from MUHAS (2021-2022).
His research project emerged the first winner (Best Multidisciplinary Category) of the 6th Research and
Innovation Week Exhibition of the College of Natural and Applied Sciences at the University of Dar es Salaam
