Evans F. Wema is a Senior Lecturer in Information Management and IT at the Information Studies Programme, University of Dar es Salaam. He holds a PhD in Information Management & IT from theLoughborough University, United Kingdom, Master’s degree in Information Studies from University of Dar es Salaam Tanzania and Master’s in Information Technology from University of Pretoria, South Africa. Apart from holding the said academic qualifications, mostly in IT and information management and IT, he has focused his interests in IT-related areas such as web design and developments, database management, digital literacies, digital archiving in relation to preserving cultural heritage artefacts and information resources. His research interests have also focused on archiving historical, political and anthropological artefacts and other information resources. He has participated in researching on digital literacies, reading culture, aesthetics of publishing archiving, preserving and facilitating access to digital resources for effective retrieval of the same. In addition he has developed courseware on information search and retrieval services for information institutions in Tanzania.
