Welcome to the official website of the Directorate of Students Services (DSTS) at the University of Dar-es-Salaam (UDSM). This Directorate is one of the core directorates under the Deputy Vice-Chancellor - Planning, Finance, and Administration (DVC-PFA). The Directorate's core mission is to oversee and coordinate effective, efficient, and sustainable delivery of student affairs services and related policy formulation at UDSM. Located in Yombo near the hall of residence 6, the office is entrusted by the University to undertake the welfare of students throughout the time they will stay at the University. The main goal is to help students reach their academic goals in a conducive environment through:

• Provision of high-quality services that nurture students to engage in academic and social development.
• Provision of adequate information to students that helps them to make a smooth transition in the university and beyond.
• Responding to the needs of students by connecting them to numerous sources of information and/or services.

The Office is headed by the Dean of Students and deals primarily with the personal and social welfare aspects of the student’s life. The following facilities are provided by the office of the Dean of Students: Residence, games and sports, worship, student counseling on various problems, and career guidance. The Dean of Students also assists the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration in student disciplinary matters.
