Members of the Budget Parliamentary Committee of the Zanzibar House of Representatives, led by the Committee Chairperson Hon. Mwanaasha Khamis Juma and Vice Chairperson Hon. Dr. Sudi Nahoda Hassan paid a courtesy visit to the University of Dar es Salaam on 16 November, 2023 to gain insights and share experiences about the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) project which is implemented by various higher learning institutions in Tanzania, University of Dar es Salaam inclusive. The Committee members were also accompanied by the Vice Chancellor of the State University of Zanzibar(SUZA), Prof. Mohammed Makame Haji.

UDSM Vice Chancellor Prof. William A. L. Anangisye, said the University was very glad to host such a respectful delegation, and informed it about the notable UDSM history, developments and strategic initiatives undertaken by the University to ensure HEET Project successes. Dr. Liberato V. Haule, Deputy Coordinator of the HEET Project at UDSM, with inputs from Project Implementation Unit members present, presented in details the project progress at the Campus and identified areas of collaboration and understanding between UDSM and SUZA for realizing academic achievements.

The delegation expressed its profound gratitude to UDSM and appreciated her great commitment and efforts towards reaching the project goals, which offered functional lessons to SUZA and the Committee at large.
