The University of Dar es Salaam has received more than 39,000 applicants for admission into its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as it participated in the 17th Tanzania Commission for Universities exhibitions held in Dar es Salaam recently.

“Since day one of these exhibitions, our University of Dar es Salaam has been serving numerous visitors including those who have completed their secondary school studies, and their parents; all these have expressed so much interest to our programmes and the University at large. This has attracted so many applications”, said Prof. Boniface.
Meanwhile, various stakeholders visited the UDSM pavilion to seek various information about its teaching, research and consultancy services. Among them, were the prominent UDSM alumni or former members of staff such as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Francis Michael, the TCU Chairperson, Prof. Penina Mlama, and the TCU Executive Secretary, Prof. Charles Kihampa.
This year, the TCU Higher Education Science and Technology Exhibitions which bring together different higher education institutions, government officials, secondary schools and college students, parents and other stakeholders, were held from 18 to 23 July, 2022, at Mnazi Mmoja Grounds, Dar es Salaam.
At these exhibitions, the University of Dar es Salaam offered and exhibited various services such as information about the programmes and courses it offers, online application services to students who wish to study at the University of Dar es Salaam and dealing with any related challenges in the application processes
“I chose to bring my daughter to apply to study at this university because it is widely known as the best higher learning institution that provides quality education within a student friendly environment. I advise my fellow parents to bring their children to this University as well”, said one of the parents who visited the UDSM pavilion.
“The factor that attracts me to join the University of Dar es Salaam is the fact that this is a University that provides a wide array of courses that are relevant to the market; its facilities and also its ranking convince those who have completed high school studies to strive to study at the University of Dar es Salaam”, said one applicant who has just completed form six studies.
