The University of Dar es Salaam Insurance Agency (UDIA) has won the first best performing agency on general insurance portfolio award for the year 2022, offered by the National Insurance Cooperation (NIC).

According to the NIC statement, “from the current available reports, among the NIC country-wide agencies, UDIA has emerged as the best performer country-wide on general insurance services”.

The award was announced and presented to UDIA this February 2023 in Morogoro, in an event that was organized by NIC. This event brought together all agencies throughout the country.

Speaking about this award, UDIA Manager, Dr. Neema Robert said the agency was doing its? best to perform and offer services in accordance with  customers satisfaction needs and the existing rules and conditions.

“The insurance sector is growing very fast, so we are striving and doing our hardest to be very smart so that we can go with the pace; maintaining our reputability, and serving to meet our customers’ needs with excellence,” said Dr. Robert.

UDIA, which was registered in August 1998 by the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA), is fully owned by the University of Dar es Salaam. It signed an agreement of undertaking the insurance business focusing on general insurance cover services including motor vehicle, travel, personal accident, all risks, fire and perils, life insurance and medical insurance products.

The agency’s services are digitally done through simply online services 24/7. “We thus call upon and invite the UDSM community and everyone to benefit from the best insurance services offered by the University agency and become ambassadors to others such as UDSM Alumni. UDIA team is always prepared to give you the best quality service”, added Dr. Robert.
