Dr. Gasper Godson Mwanga is a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics in the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics at DUCE.  He holds a Doctoral degree in Science specializing in Mathematical modeling. He is an applied Mathematician specifically in mathematical modeling of dynamical systems in diseases, ecology and biological systems. His research interest started when he was doing Postgraduate diploma in Mathematical sciences at AIMS, South Africa and thereafter in Master’s degree at the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa where he wrote a dissertation titled ‘Dynamical Models of Acute HIV Infection: Application to Interpretation of Seronegativity/RNA Positivity Survey Data to Estimate HIV Incidence’. He further pursued his Doctoral degree in Science at the Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland where he wrote a thesis titled ‘Mathematical Modeling and Optimal Control of Malaria’. Dr. Mwanga   published several papers in local and international peer reviewed Journals. He successfully supervised two PhDs and nine Masters students. Dr. Mwanga was involved in various scientific and educational projects, editing teaching manuals and in judging various national innovation pitching competitions.
