He finished his PhD in Biotechnology in 2018 and his work was focused on assessing the anti HIV-1 activities of extracts of plant species which are used by traditional healers in managing HIV/AIDS. Prior to that, his MSc in Biochemistry was based on cytokine profiling for pregnant women with or without pre-eclampsia. As a lecturer, he is engaged in teaching Biochemistry, Microbiology and Industrial/Microbial Biotechnology. Currently, Mpinda’s work is based on natural products research particularly in the Development of Herbals dosage formulations with Immunomodulation and Anti Infectivity activities and also assessing the Safety, therapeutic and prophylactic effect of herbal extracts in normal and inflammatory pregnancy. |
