Current Summarised CV: | Ms Hellen Joseph Kizenga is an assistant lecturer and a marine researcher at the Insititute of Marine Sciences of the University of Dar es Salaam. She holds a BSc degree in Microbiology and a Master’s degree in Marine Sciences from the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania where she graduated in 2013 and 2020 respectively. Her research is focusing on primary productivity (Phytoplankton) and small pelagic fish species. In her research she is interested in applying ocean observations, remote sensing, modelling and social sciences in ensuring that science is coupled with traditional knowledge for generation of concrete information on the sustainability of marine and coastal resources. In the past three years she has been able to attend a number of international conferences, workshops and meetings that have been a great contribution to broadening her knowledge on different oceanographic issues around the world. She is now attending a course (as a guest researcher) at the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research in Germany. She has co-authored 4 published papers in which she is the 1st author in 1 of the papers.
