Dr. Hezron Zacharia Onditi is a senior lecturer in Education and Psychology. He holds his Ph.D in the area of Developmental and Educational Psychology from the University of British Columbia and M.A (Applied Social Psychology) and B.Ed (Psychology, 1st class hons) from the University of Dar es Salaam. Using socio-ecological model, Dr. Onditi's research interest and teaching broadly revolves around: School climate; Schoolbullying and cyberbullying; Technology and Media in Children and youth's development; Peer relations and violence; Teacher-student relationships; Violence against children and coping strategies; Parenting; Moral disengagement in children and youth; Social skills;Socio-emotional learning; Motivation in school; and Classroom assessment, management and learning. Currently, he is researching on cyberbullying and the impact of technology and media on Tanzanian children and youth. Based on his research work, he is currently a member of the Tanzanian child online safety task force. In addition, Dr. Onditi is a member of international Bullying Research Network (BRNet);a member of Promoting Relationship and Eliminating Violence (PREVNet), Canada; and a member of Social Emotional Education Research Lab (SEED) and Developmental Change and Technology Research Lab (DCTech) at the University of British Columbia. He is also a founding member of the Tanzanian Psychological Association (TAPA).
