Magolanga Shagembe holds a Masters of Arts in Applied Social Psychology (M.A ASP) from UDSM and he is a social psychologist and an assistant lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the University of Dar es Salaam. His teaching and research areas are on Mental health and Psychosocial support (MHPSS), educational psychology, social psychology, child development, care, protection and learning; Guidance and Counselling, Principles of writing in Psychology and Industrial/work psychology. He has been involved in various national and international projects and campaigns related to child development, care, protection and learning; Mental health and Psychosocial support services. Moreover, he has been an active member and served in various leadership positions of the Tanzanian Psychological Association (TAPA) and where he is currently the president of TAPA. He is also a national master trainer on mental health and psychosocial support services (MHPSS) under the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Group.
