Dr. Nyanjiga D. Rukondo is a lecturer of Science Teacher Education in the department of Educational Psychology and Curriculum Studies. She conducts research on Science Education particularly on the practical component of the subjects at schools and university levels. Rukondo conducted a research aiming at improving science teacher education practices at university level in terms of the practical aspects of science methods courses.  She also conducted a research on girls’ attitudes and performance of  Mathematics in Tanzania whose aim was to explore  factors influencing girls’ performance in the subject. Currently, Dr. Rukondo is a coordinator of Teaching Practice at DUCE and an ambassador of Teacher Education in Sub Sahara Africa (TESSA) programme in Tanzania. Before working at DUCE, she taught teacher education courses in different Teachers Colleges (TC) including Dar es Salaam TC in  Dar es Salaam region and Sumve TC  in Mwanza region at Diploma and Certificate levels respectively. Rukondo’s area of specialization is Science Education and her research interests include Science and Mathematics in Education.
