Patrick Kavenuke is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Educational Foundations, Management and Lifelong Learning. Kavenuke holds a PhD in Comparative Education (Educational Policy Studies). Kavenuke is a Lecturer of Educational Foundation courses, notably International and Comparative Studies in Educational Leadership and Policy, International and Comparative Education, Philosophy of Education, Sociology of Education, and Principles of Educational Foundations at Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) where he also Heads the Quality Assurance Unit. Kavenuke has received many prizes, including the second prize for the best PhD student of the year 2015/2016 by Beijing Normal University. Kavenuke demonstrates expertise in conducting research and capacity building for teachers and developing critical thinking skills for teacher educators, teachers, students, and other professionals. Kavenuke was a Manager of a joint project between DUCE as a Lead institution, HELVETAS, a Swiss NGO based in Tanzania, the University of Kibabii (KIBU) – Kenya and the University of Zambia (UNZA) – Zambia. The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada funded the project. The project started in May 2021 and ended in November 2023. Kavenuke is currently the Principal Investigator of a project on “Strengthening Stakeholders’ Participation in the Implementation of Primary School Feeding Programme in Tanzania” funded by the University of Dar es Salaam.
