Early today, our college, UDSM-CoSS together with Aga Khan University in Tanzania, initiated formal discussions for collaboration. The discussions covered three main areas of collaboration; research, teaching and consultancy.
Speaking about the discussions, the college principal, Prof. Christine Noe said “We [college] hope to collaborate in research, teaching, consultancy and many other ways. Our Department of Sociology shares a lot with Aga Khan University (AKU) especially in Social Work and Public Health. Our Department of Geography is invited to offer expertise on environmental issues and GIS.”
The discussions were held at Aga Khan University in Dar es Salaam where UDSM-CoSS team had Prof. Christine Noe,college principal, Dr. Rose Mwaipopo, Head, Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Dr. Rweyemamu from the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and Dr. Zahor Zahor who represented the Head of Department of Geography. The team was received by the AKU Vice Regional Provost Prof. Eunice Siaity-Pallangyo and her team.
