INSTITUTE OF GENDER STUDIES (IGS)

Promote gender-oriented student and staff affairs;
Promote gender-oriented research, training and consultancy at UDSM;
Improve the socio-political and cultural environment ( of the UDSM) so as to enhance socially acceptable/harmonious gender relations;

Improve the UDSM legal, organizational and management structures so as to facilitate gender mainstreaming and balance;
Improve capacity for financial mobilization and management related to gender aspects;
Expand and effectively utilize gender oriented communication and networking;
Ensure gender –responsive support services and facilities at the UDSM;
Monitor the implementation of the UDSM Gender Policy and Anti-sexual Harassment Policy, and other related policies; and
Advance any other relevant gender-related strategies and approaches within and outside the UDSM.
