Dr. Hillary Dachi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Educational Foundations, Management and Lifelong Learning at the University of Dar es Salaam. Previously he served as the Dean, School of Education, University of Dar es Salaam. Dr. Dachi holds a PhD in Education from the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol (UK);  an MA in Education and a B. Ed. (Arts) (Hons)  both from the University of Dar es Salaam. Dr. Dachi teaches and supervises research for postgraduate students in educational leadership and management, economics of education, quality assurance in education, educational policy studies and educational planning and finance. Dr. Dachi has conducted several research and consultancy assignments to both domestic and international clients. Recently he has worked as Institutional Coordinator of the Pedagogical Leadership in Africa (PEDAL) programme at the University of Dar es Salaam (2017-2022); Previously had worked as an Institutional Coordinator, North-South-South Network on Teacher Education Capacity Building (2007-2015); Institutional Coordinator, Research Programme Consortium on Improving Quality in Low Income Countries (RPC-EDQUAL) (2005-2010) and other assignments.
