The Department of Structural and Construction Engineering (SCE) provides consultancy services to the industry mostly by conducting quality control tests on construction materials, expert advice in construction management and public procurement. Further, a considerable number of consultancies have involved structural design and supervision of new construction works.

Recent works include CRDB Headquarters Building, Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy New Library Building, and University of Dar es Salaam School of Economics Building. The other major consultancy activities have been the appraisal of existing structure.
