Profile: Miss Alice Titus Bakera is the assistant lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Tanzania, in the department of Structural and Construction Engineering (SCE), College of Engineering and Technology (CoET). She attained her BSc degree at the University of Dar es salaam, and her MSc degree at the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in the Department of Civil Engineering. Her current research focuses on the biogenic acid corrosion of sewer concrete. She is a member of the Concrete Materials and Structural Integrity Research Unit (CoMSIRU) at UCT, the International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems and Structures (RILEM), and the Cement and Concrete South Africa (CCSA). She is also a secretary of the CCSA western cape branch, South Africa.
