Prof. Severine Rugumamu, previously Executive Secretary, African Association of Political Science (AAPS), Pretoria, South Africa is a professor of Development Studies, University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Maryland, College Park. Before taking up the job as Executive Secretary, he was both a professor at the University of Dar es Salaam, and the Director, University of Dar Es Salaam Consultancy Bureau. Previously, he served also as visiting professor, University of Maryland, College Park; University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; and at Bennett College in the United States. Professor Rugumamu is a regular consultant to UN Agencies, the African Capacity Building Foundation, the African Union, African Regional Economic Communities, Pan-African Parliament, sub-Regional and National Parliaments, the Government of Tanzania, and the Tanzania private sector. He also served as Special Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He is fluent in English and French.
