Dr. Mukiza is a Lecturer, Media consultant and journalist in Tanzania. He has the first, second and third degree in Mass Communication pursued at the St Augustine University of Tanzania. He currently serves as the Coordinator of Post Graduate studies, Head of Public Relations and Marketing Unit and Coordinator of Online Diploma in Journalism at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Dr. Mukiza teaches courses of Mass Media research, Mass Communication theories, print media, media ethics, Media Law, Political Communication, Social media marketing, Science Journalism and media and propaganda at the School of Journalism and other academic institutions.  Before joining the University of Dar es salaam, Dr. Mukiza worked as Lecturer, Head of Mass Communication Department and Assistant Quality Assurance Director at Tumaini University Dar es Salaam College (TUDARCo) for a period of eight years.  He also teaches at the Open University on part-time basis. He has also taught at The Muslim University of Morogoro (MUM) on part-time basis for more than three years. Dr. Mukiza has also worked with several newspapers and organisations in different capacities as a journalist and consultant respectively for more than 15 years.  He has worked as a journalist with The Citizen, The East African, The Daily news, The African, Mtanzania, Rai and the Guardian on Sunday newspapers. Dr. Mukiza has worked with different local and international organisations in consultancy and project capacities. Some of these organisations include the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT), Twaweza, and Tanzania Media Fund (TMF), UNESCO, Tanzania Commision for AIDS (TACAIDS), The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training Centre, Tanzania Bereau of Standards (TBS), Tanzania Information Centre, Mwananchi Communications Limited, The Commision of Human Rights and Good Governance (CHRGG), SAUT- Human rights centre, Best Dialogue AC, CABI International (CABI) and Bloomberg Media Initiative in Africa. Dr. Mukiza is currently publishing papers on Science Journalism in Africa and the use of Twitter during the 2020 General Elections in Tanzania.
