University of Dar es Salaam Business School (UDBS) and Management Development and Consultancy Bureau of the University of Dar es Salaam conducted a two-day consultancy skills training on May 14th and 15th 2023 at SilverSands Hotel.
The aim of the training was to build capacity among the junior members of staff in areas of building professional networks for building practical consultancy skills, preparation of the technical proposal and financial proposals and forming the school (UDBS) based consultancy teams for collaboration in proposal writing and carrying out of the won assignments.
Twenty-five (25) UDBS staff members attended the training and two experienced consultants facilitated it. Dr. Erick Mkwizu, started the workshop, teaching on characteristics of an ideal consultant and consultant’s ethics, growing in the consultancy business, developing a technical proposal and developing a financial proposal. Dr. Severine Kessy, ended the training with a thorough recap of day one session, more specific details on understanding the terms of references, inception report and inception meeting, and practical assignments for participants to develop technical and financial proposals.
