Overview of the School of Economics
Welcome to the home page of the School of Economics at the University of Dar es Salaam. The School of Economics is new, having transformed from a Department of Economics that was in the College of Social Science.
As a School, we will continue to pride ourselves in training and producing high quality economists, servicing the University community, and the private and public sectors. The School has well trained staff in diverse economic fields.
The School attracts students from across the continent, and through its collaboration with the African Economic Research Consortium under the CMAP and CPP programmes, we are able to train economists who can successfully work within the continent and beyond.
The mission of the school of Economics is to accumulate, impart and exchange knowledge in the field of economics through research and publications, teaching and learning, generating and taking part in national and international policy debates, as well as providing advisory or consulting services to the government and civil society. The school also provides consultancy services to private institutions, government ministries, departments; agencies; parastatals and international organizations.
