The University of Dar es Salaam Central Pool Transport Unit (CPTU) was established in 1999 aimed at providing transport services to the University community in a centralized system. Such services include managing transport operations, maintenance of the vehicle fleets, overseeing vehicle establishment programmes, coordinate fuel cards and car fueling system. The Unit is also responsible to ensure that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements and drivers are aware of their duties and their ethical codes of conduct. The Unit is headed by the UDSM Transport Officer who is responsible for managing and coordinating all transportation matters within the University.
