Current Summarised CV: | Dorothea Fumpuni John is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Education at the Dar es Salaam University College of Education. She teaches Educational Foundations courses such as Principles of education, Sociology of education, History of education and Philosophy of Education at undergraduate level. She has completed her first degree (BA. Ed.) and master’s degree (MA. Ed.) at the University of Dar es Salaam in 2004 and 2008 respectively. Before her employment at DUCE in 2008, she worked with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training as a secondary school teacher since 1998. She has been a member of teaching practice for two years from 2008 to 2010. In the year 2014/15 she has been an Acting Gender Coordinator in the College. Since 2015 to 2018, she was the Faculty of Education Coordinator for Research and Publication and a Faculty board member. Currently, she is a Gender club matron in the college. She has vast experience in researching community participation in education, leadership and gender and adult literacy as well as in facilitating and training women in political leadership since 2010 funded by UNIFEM currently UN-WOMEN.
