Mabula Nkuba is a senior lecturer at Dar es Salaam University College of Education in Tanzania. He is a psychologist whose research and interventions aims to prevent child violence in families and schools by linking theories, policies and laws with the daily parenting practices. Nkuba's  research interest includes parenting psychology, child violence as well  as children's mental health as linked to school achievement. For the previous four years, He spent his time investigating the prevalence and factors responsible for child violence in Tanzanian families and schools. In collaboration with other  researchers from the University of Konstanz in Germany and Mbarara University in Uganda, he developed, implemented and evaluated a child violence  prevention approach relevant for Tanzanian school context and sub-Saharan African setting in general. Nkuba's research emphasis is on the use of effective non-violent discipline strategies in managing children's behavioral problems.  He holds a doctorate in Natural Science-Psychology from the University of Konstanz, Germany. Before that, Nkuba studied  M. A in Applied Social Psycholoy and BSc-Education from the University of Dar es Salaam. He  teaches courses in Educational psychology and Research methods in education. Before joining the university teaching, Nkuba worked shortly as a Science teacher in secondary schools in Tanzania.
