Ms. Hetty Gideon Barnabas is a Library Officer I in the Directorate of Library Services (DLS) at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). Ms Hetty has worked for the University of Dar es Salaam since 2003 to date. She holds a Master in Library and Information Management (2022) from the Open University of Tanzania, Master of Science in Human Resources Management (2011) from Mzumbe University and Bachelor's degree in Arts general (2001) from University of Dar es Salaam.

Her areas of specialization are original and online cataloguing and classification of information materials (both electronic and print), shelve and shelf reading of library materials, spine labeling, records management, information literacy, database management, digitization of information materials, data quality control, data cleaning and customer care skills. Other area of specialization includes human resources management. Currently, she is supervising Law section.
