Mr. Alfa Simwanza is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), in the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences (PESS), Tanzania. Also, a Regular Research Scholar under the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scheme, Department of Physical Education, Jadavpur University, West Bengal, India.

Mr. Alfa worked at Aga Khan Education Services Tanzania in 2013 as a Physical Education and Sports teacher as well as a Coordinator - After School Activities Programmes (ASAP); He also worked at Tukuyu Teachers College in 2014-2019 as a College Tutor; and UDSM as an academician since 2019.

He holds Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and Sport Sciences (2013), Master of Arts in Education (2018) both from the University of Dar es Salaam; and a PhD Scholar 2021-up to date (Jadavpur University - India)

He has published research papers including; “Strategies used by secondary schools administrators to motivate teachers and students to be involved in PE and sports” as well as

“Resource mobilization for sport activities in Tanzanian secondary schools: Application of strategic internal marketing”.

Research interest: Sports management and administration, Leisure and Recreational Philosophy of Physical Education and Sports, Ball games and Aerobics.
