Dr. Lyakurwa is a lecturer in the Department of Educational Psychology and Curriculum Studies, School of Education, University of Dar es Salaam. He teaches Educational Psychology courses both at undergraduate and postgraduate. He also supervises students in their Master's and Ph.D. research.  Dr. Lyakurwa is the author of Universal design for learning (UDL) in the context of education in Tanzania. As a neurocognitive psychology empirical findings demonstrated that “every learner is able to learn” if the UDL principles and guidelines can be applied, then it is possible to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4 among others to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
