Veronica Gabriel Buchumi is a  Lecturer at the Department of Private Law. She joined the School in 2013. Dr. Buchumi holds a Bachelor of Laws (2013) and Master of Laws degrees (2014) from the University of Dar es Salaam, and a Ph.D. from Bayreuth, Germany. In 2015, Dr Buchumi received a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania. 

Dr. Buchumi is an advocate of the High Court of Tanzania. She is a member of Tanganyika Law Society; a Bar Association for Tanzania mainland. She is also a member of the Tanganyika Women LAwywers Association since 2015. Dr Buchum's areas of interest are International Children’s Rights, Family law, refugee law, and immigration law.
