Dr. BARAKA F. KANYABUHINYA

Dr Baraka Kanyabuhinya is a lecturer at the School. He is also heading the Private Law Department. Dr Kanyabuhinya has a Bachelor of Laws degree, LL. B (Hons.) Upper Second-Class School of Law, University of Dar es Salaam-Tanzania (2003), Master of Laws (LL.M) in Intellectual Property, Commerce and Technology at the University of New Hampshire (then called Franklin Pierce Law Centre-USA) (2005), and Doctor of Philosophy (Economic Law), University of Dar es Salaam (2014). Dr Kanyabuhinya specializes in Competition Law, Intellectual Property, Consumer Protection, Commercial transactions and Entities, Technology, Data Protection, EAC Law, International Trade and Family Law other areas of interests include Land law, Alternative Disputes Resolution (ADR), Labour Relations and WTO Law.   • 1999-2003: Government of Tanzania Bursary, to pursue LLB Program at the University of Dar es Salaam.
  • 2002: University Prize, Awarded by the University of Dar es Salaam namely: Certificate for Excellent Performance for being a Student with higher marks in Third Year University Examinations.
  • 2002: University Prize: Certificate for Excellent Performance for being a Student with Higher Marks (B+ or above) in Family Law and Development.
