Hamza I. Abdulrahman is a lecturer at the Department of Economic Law. He joined the School on 1st February 2019. Before this appointment, Dr. Abdulrahman worked as an Assistant Lecturer and Tutorial Assistant at the Institute of Tax Administration (ITA), a training wing of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) since October 2008. Dr. Abdulrahman has a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL. B (Hons)-2008), Master of Laws Degree (LL.M 2010) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD 2018), from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Dr. Abdulrahman is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and Courts subordinate thereto save for Primary Courts. He is also a Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths which among others qualified him to be a member of the Tanganyika Law Society (TLS). This followed the successful completion of studies at the Law School of Tanzania in 2018 where he was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (PGDLP).
Dr. Abdulrahman’s area of interest is principally economic laws subjects including: Tax Laws, Law of Contract, Intellectual Property Law and Land Law. His interest also extends to Constitutional Law, Human Rights, Criminal Law and Procedure and the Law of Evidence.
While at the Institute of Tax Administration, Dr. Abdulrahman also served as a visiting Lecturer at the University of Bagamoyo between 2012 and 2014.
Before joining the University of Dar es Salaam, he served as Deputy Head of Examinations and Curriculum Affairs before the same office was amalgamated with the Registration and Admission office where he also served as a Deputy Head of Admission, Registration and Examinations between 2013 and 2017.
