Dr. Antidius Kaitu is a Lecturer at the Department of Private Law. He joined the
school in 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws from the
University of Dar es Salaam, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the
Law school of Tanzania and a Ph.D. from the University of Antwerp, Belgium.
He was a fellow at the All-African House (AAH), University of Cape Town,
2017 and between 2014 and 2016, Dr Kaitu completed a two-year African
Mining Legislation Atlas (AMLA) training, the project initiated and supported
by the World Bank, the African Union and the African Legal Support Facility to
train the next generation of mining law experts.
Dr. Kaitu teaches Investment Law, Human Rights Law, Legal History,
International Law and the Law of Business Association, among other courses.
He is a Law and Development scholar with research interests on the right to
development specifically focusing on the activities of international (financial)
institutions like the WB, UN, IMF, WTO, and those of Transnational
Corporations (TNCs) in the Global North- Global South relationship.
