Dr. Cecilia Edward Ngaiza
Dr. Cecilia Ngaiza is a Lecturer at the Department of Private Law, University of Dar-es-Salaam
School of Law. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) (2014), a Master of Laws (2018) both from
the University of Dar-es-Salaam and a Ph.D. (Summa Cum Laude) (2024) from the University of
Bayreuth, Germany.
Dr. Ngaiza is also a holder of Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (PGDLP) (2016) from the
Law School of Tanzania and an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania.
Before joining the School, Dr. Ngaiza worked as a Regional Coordinator of the Tanzania
Women Lawyers’ Association (TAWLA) - Arusha Regional Office. She has also been serving in
a position of a Member to the TAWLA’s Board of Directors since May 2022.
Areas of Interest and Specialisation
Dr. Ngaiza’s main area of specialisation is human rights law. She also holds interest in
environmental law, family law and the law of the child.
