Dr. Petro Protas
Dr. Petro Protas is a Lecturer at the Department of Private Law. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree - LL.B (Hons), Master of Laws degree - LL.M (Dar) and Ph.D. (Dar). Being a dynamic and very committed scholar, Dr. Protas serves as the Coordinator of the Tanzanian-German Centre for Eastern African Legal Studies (TGCL) (since January 2022), Coordinator of the LL.M Programme in Regional Integration and East African Community Law (Since January 2022). He has also served as the Coordinator of LL.M in Migration and Refugee Law - MMRL (2019-2022), the timetable coordinator of the School of Law (2016-2018), Assistant Coordinator to the Regional Integration Project in Africa which was run jointly by the University of Dar es Salaam and the University of Bayreuth, Germany (2017-2018), Editorial Assistant - Eastern African Law Review (2016-2019). Dr. Protas is also an advocate of the High Court of Tanzania, Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths. He is a member of the Tanganyika Law Society (TLS) and the East African Law Society (EALS).
